The global diabetes community again unites at the International Diabetes Federation 2017 Congress in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
More than 200 speakers, both world-renowned and newcomers, 230 national diabetes associations from 170 countries and high-level participation from the Health Authority Abu Dhabi (HAAD) and other health organizations.
International delegates to the IDF congress come from very diverse backgrounds. They include research scientists, endocrinologists, health professionals such as nurses, general practitioners, dieticians, diabetes educators, as well as health policy makers.
Many of the participants are taking the test with our InBody 770 during the exhibition, it gives the accurate Body Composition Analysis that is helpful in screening and monitoring Diabetes.
The Biggest Loser Challenge commenced on February 17 as part of RAK Hospital’s drive towards a fit and healthy UAE in association with Ministry of Health and Prevention, Ras Al Khaimah. Hundreds of participants registered for the competition with the doctors at the hospital recording their weight, height and BMI and blood pressure. The information was tallied at the end of the challenge for final results.
The award for the biggest loser in the male category went to Ghazwan Abdullah Dakak, a Syrian national who lost 35.5 kgs within the stipulated period. Among the ladies, Iraqi national Sura Falih Azziz won the cash prize for dropping 19 kgs. The runners-up awards went to two Emiratis, Salem Khamis Rashed — 18 years — and Hiba Khalifa Fath Al Rahman Saeed — 35 years — who lost 28 kgs and 15 kgs respectively.

Our Spec Brite Group Team together with Mr. ChanGyeong Jeong and Ms. Lisa Cha of InBody visited NMC Royal Hospital in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi.
The Team had a meeting with Dr. Wael Jebur (Consultant Nephrologist) for Inbody S10 device and talked about its applications in their dialysis unit: Determination of Ideal Dry Weight, Nutritional Assessment, and Circulation Screening.
The Team also performed Inbody S10 test on 3 patients right after their dialysis and interpreted the result sheets to the doctor and had a training for the staff in using the InBody.

The campaign was inaugurated by Fatema Saeed Al Shehhi, Head of Health Education, RAK Medical District, Ministry of Health and Prevention, Ras Al Khaimah, in the presence of dignitaries from RAK Hospital.
During the registration day, the doctors at the hospital recorded the participants’ weight, height and BMI and blood pressure. Participants will also be provided with weekly weight-recording sheets. Surgical weight loss will not be allowed.

Under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the National Olympic Committee and Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Creative Sports Award, Dubai will host, in line with the UAE National Sports Day, from the 24th to 26th of November, 2016 the largest exhibition of fitness in the Middle East, with the full support and collaboration from the Dubai Sports Council.

Arab Health is the largest gathering of healthcare & trade professionals in the MENA Region. The four-day event was inaugurated by Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance and Industry.
Sheikh Hamdan toured the exhibition along with local and regional dignitaries, including Humaid Al Qattami, director-general and chairman of the board of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA); Dr Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al Rabiah, Minister of Health of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Obaid Al Saeedi, Minister of Health of Oman.
Accompanying the exhibition this year are 19 business and Continuing Medical Education (CME) conferences as part of the Arab Health 2018. The event is hosting more than 4,200 exhibiting companies and 8,000 delegates from across the globe.
